Founded to give Northern Arizona high school students the opportunity to compete, grow, and serve their community through hockey.
The Flagstaff Avalanche is a high school hockey program founded to provide hockey players from Northern Arizona high schools an opportunity to compete amongst their peers in amateur league play through the Arizona High School Hockey Association (AHSHA).
This club sport program crosses high school boundaries and truly represents the Flagstaff community. We are a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit corporation (EIN: 81-0685229), tax-exempt since December 2015.
Our NTEE classification is N68 – Winter Sports, and we operate in Coconino County, Arizona.
Players try out and compete in D1, D2, and D3 divisions within AHSHA, with opportunities for all-star teams and premier travel.
A central faculty advisor works with our club and AHSHA to monitor grades and attendance, ensuring players follow acceptable academic guidelines.
Through training, education, and role models, we emphasize sportsmanship, community service projects, and family participation.
By promoting unity, commitment, truth, and respect, players learn valuable lessons that last long after graduation.
Flagstaff Avalanche Ice Hockey Club Inc is formed and receives 501(c)(3) tax-exempt status from the IRS (determination letter dated November 30, 2015).
