The Flagstaff Avalanche

The Flagstaff Avalanche is a high school hockey program founded to provide hockey players from Northern Arizona high schools an opportunity to compete amongst their peers in amateur league play through the Arizona High School Hockey Association (AHSHA).

This club sport program crosses high school boundaries and truly represents the Flagstaff community. We are a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit corporation (EIN: 81-0685229), tax-exempt since December 2015.

Our NTEE classification is N68 – Winter Sports, and we operate in Coconino County, Arizona.

2015

Nonprofit Incorporation & IRS Recognition

Flagstaff Avalanche Ice Hockey Club Inc is formed and receives 501(c)(3) tax-exempt status from the IRS (determination letter dated November 30, 2015).

2016–2020

Program Growth

Expansion to multiple AHSHA divisions (D1, D2, D3) and establishment of academic monitoring partnerships with area high schools.

2021–2023

Charity Program Launch

Formal community outreach including annual food drives, equipment donation programs, and free youth hockey clinics.

2024–2025

Continued Community Impact

Ongoing 990-N filings confirm active nonprofit status. Principal Officer Stephanie Babbitt leads organizational compliance and community engagement.
